The Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon me. The version of Musaddad and Ibn as-Sarh has: one day looking pleased". The version of Uthman has: "The lines of his forehead were realised." He said: O Aisha, are you not surprised to hear that Mujazziz al-Mudlaji saw that Zayd and Usamah had a rug over them concerning their heads and letting their feet appear. He said: These feet are related. Abu Dawud: Usamah was black and Zaid was white.

أبو داود:٢٢٦٧ – حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ الْمَعْنَى وَابْنُ السَّرْحِ قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

دَخَلَ عَلَىَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ مُسَدَّدٌ وَابْنُ السَّرْحِ يَوْمًا مَسْرُورًا وَقَالَ عُثْمَانُ يُعْرَفُ أَسَارِيرُ وَجْهِهِ فَقَالَ أَىْ عَائِشَةُ أَلَمْ تَرَىْ أَنَّ مُجَزِّزًا الْمُدْلِجِيَّ رَأَى زَيْدًا وَأُسَامَةَ قَدْ غَطَّيَا رُءُوسَهُمَا بِقَطِيفَةٍ وَبَدَتْ أَقْدَامُهُمَا فَقَالَ إِنَّ هَذِهِ الأَقْدَامَ بَعْضُهَا مِنْ بَعْضٍ

قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ كَانَ أُسَامَةُ أَسْوَدَ وَكَانَ زَيْدٌ أَبْيَضَ

Messenger of Allah ﷺ once entered upon me in a very happy mood, with his features glittering with joy, and said, "O ʿAisha! won't you see that Mujazziz (a Qa'if) looked just now at Zaid bin Haritha and Usama bin Zaid and said, 'These feet (of Usama and his father) belong to each other." Once Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon me and he was in a very happy mood and said, "O ʿAisha: Don't you know that Mujazziz Al-Mudliji entered and saw Usama and Zaid with a velvet covering on them and their heads were covered while their feet were uncovered. He said, 'These feet belong to each other.'

"Don't you see that the Mujazziz looked just now at Zaid bin Harithah and Usamah bin Zaid, and said: 'These feet belong to each other.'"

[Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih.

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ entered upon Aisha happily and said, "Did you not hear what Mudlij said?" He saw Usama and Zayd sleeping in a garment or in a quilted blanket, with their feet exposed. The Prophet said, "Indeed, these feet are part of each other."

أحمد:٢٥٨٩٥ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ قَالَ

ibnhibban:4102 – al-Faḍl b. al-Ḥubāb al-Jumaḥī > Abū al-Walīd al-Ṭayālisī > Layth > Ibn Shihāb > ʿUrwah > ʿĀʾishah

الكبرى للنسائي:٥٦٥٧ – أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ

إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ مَسْرُورًا تَبْرُقُ أَسَارِيرُ وَجْهِهِ فَقَالَ أَلَمْ تَرَيْ أَنَّ مُجَزِّزًا نَظَرَ إِلَى زَيْدِ بْنِ حَارِثَةَ وَأُسَامَةَ بْنِ زَيْدٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ بَعْضَ هَذِهِ الْأَقْدَامِ لَمِنْ بَعْضٍ

"The Messenger of Allah came to me one day looking happy and said: 'O 'Aishah! Did you not see that Mujazziz Al-Mudliji came to me when Usamah bin Zaid was with me. He saw Usamah bin Zaid and Zaid with a blanket over them; their heads were covered but their feet were exposed, and he said: These feet belong to one another.'" (Using translation from Nasāʾī 3494)

[AI] One day, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered upon me while he was happy. The sparks of his face were shining. He said, "Don't you see that Mujazziz Al-Mudlijyy entered upon me and saw Osama bin Zaid and Zaid bin Harithah, both of them were wearing Qatifa and their feet were visible." He said, "These feet are some of each other." He mentioned the narration of Qutaybah.

[AI] The Prophet ﷺ entered upon her while he was pleased and the light was radiating from his face. He said, "Did you not hear what the Mujazziz al-Mudlijji said?" He saw Usama and Zaid sleeping, and their feet were revealed, so he said, "Indeed, these feet are some of each other."

البيهقي:٢١٢٥٤ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بِشْرَانَ وَأَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ السُّكَّرِيُّ بِبَغْدَادَ قَالَا أنبأ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّفَّارُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الرَّمَادِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ أنبأ ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ أَنَّ

النَّبِيَّ ﷺ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا وَهُوَ مَسْرُورٌ تَبْرُقُ أَسَارِيرُ وَجْهِهِ فَقَالَ أَلَمْ تَسْمَعِي مَا قَالَ مُجَزِّزٌ الْمُدْلِجِيُّ وَرَأَى أُسَامَةَ وَزَيْدًا نَائِمَيْنِ وَقَدْ خَرَجَتْ أَقْدَامُهُمَا فَقَالَ إِنَّ هَذِهِ الْأَقْدَامَ بَعْضُهَا مِنْ بَعْضٍ

[AI] Indeed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to me with a happy expression, the lightning of his face shining. He then said, "Don't you see that I am pleased with Zaid ibn Harithah and Usamah ibn Zaid? Verily, some of these feet are from others." 21273 He said, "And Abu Al-Fadl ibn Ibrahim informed us, narrating from Ahmad ibn Salamah, narrating from Qutaybah ibn Said, narrating from Al-Laith, who mentioned it with its chain of narration."

البيهقي:٢١٢٧٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ أنبأ إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ قُتَيْبَةَ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى أنبأ اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ عُرْوَةَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ؓ قَالَتْ
