"A man came to the Prophet and said: 'O Messenger of Allah! How many times should the servant be pardoned?' The Prophet was silent. Then he said: 'O Messenger of Allah! How many times should the servant be pardoned?' He said: ' Seventy times each day.'"  

الترمذي:١٩٤٩حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا رِشْدِينُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ أَبِي هَانِئٍ الْخَوْلاَنِيِّ عَنْ عَبَّاسٍ الْحَجَرِيِّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَمْ أَعْفُو عَنِ الْخَادِمِ فَصَمَتَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَمْ أَعْفُو عَنِ الْخَادِمِ فَقَالَ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ سَبْعِينَ مَرَّةً  

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ وَرَوَاهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ عَنْ أَبِي هَانِئٍ الْخَوْلاَنِيِّ نَحْوًا مِنْ هَذَا وَالْعَبَّاسُ هُوَ ابْنُ جُلَيْدٍ الْحَجَرِيُّ الْمِصْرِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ عَنْ أَبِي هَانِئٍ الْخَوْلاَنِيِّ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ نَحْوَهُ وَرَوَى بَعْضُهُمْ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ وَقَالَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو

A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked: Messenger of Allah! how often shall I forgive a servant? He gave no reply, so the man repeated what he had said, but he still kept silence. When he asked a third time, he replied: Forgive him seventy times daily.

سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرٍو يَقُولُ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَمْ نَعْفُو عَنِ الْخَادِمِ فَصَمَتَ ثُمَّ أَعَادَ عَلَيْهِ الْكَلاَمَ فَصَمَتَ فَلَمَّا كَانَ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ قَالَ اعْفُوا عَنْهُ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ سَبْعِينَ مَرَّةً

[Machine] A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked, "O Messenger of Allah, how many times can a slave be forgiven?" The Prophet remained silent, then repeated the question and remained silent again. The man asked for the third time, and then the Prophet said, "He can be forgiven seventy times in a day."
