[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in prayer, and he either increased or decreased something. When he finished, it was said, "O Messenger of Allah, did you make any changes in the prayer?" He said, "If I had made any changes, I would have informed you. I am only a human being and I forget as you forget. So, if anyone of you performs prayer and increases or decreases something, he should strive to do what is correct and complete the prayer. Then, he should prostrate for the two prostrations of forgetfulness."  

الطبراني:٩٨٢٨ – حَدَّثَنَا أَسْلَمُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا تَمِيمُ بْنُ الْمُنْتَصِرِ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ثنا أَبُو الْأَشْهَبِ جَعْفَرُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ

صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ فَزَادَ أَوَ نَقَصَ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَحَدَثَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ شَيْءٌ؟ قَالَ «لَوْ حَدَثَ لَأَنْبَأْتُكُمْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ أَنْسَى كَمَا تَنْسَوْنَ فَأَيُّكُمْ صَلَّى فَزَادَ أَوَ نَقَصَ فَلْيَتَحَرَّ الصَّوَابَ فَلْيُتِمَّ وَيَسْجُدْ سَجْدَتَيِ السَّهْوِ»

"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed and did more or less (rak'ahs). When he had said the taslim, it was said: 'O Messenger of Allah, has there been some change concerning the prayer?' He said: 'If there had been some change concerning the prayer, I would have told you. Rather I am a human being and I forget as you forget. If any one of you is not sure about his prayer, let him consider an estimate of what is correct, and complete his prayer on that basis, then say the taslim and prostrate twice.'"  

النسائي:١٢٤٢ – أَخْبَرَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ عَنْ مِسْعَرٍ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ

[Machine] The messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed with us a prayer in which he either added or omitted something. When he finished, we asked, "O messenger of Allah, did you introduce something new in the prayer?" He replied, "I did not introduce anything new in the prayer. However, I am a human being and I forget just as you forget. So if I forget, remind me, and if any one of you is unsure about his prayer, he should strive to do it correctly and then perform two prostrations."  

ابن حبّان:٢٦٥٦ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ زُهَيْرٍ بِتُسْتُرَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمِقْدَامِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ مَنْصُورِ بْنِ الْمُعْتَمِرِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ النَّخَعِيِّ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ

صَلَّى بِنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ صَلَاةً زَادَ فِيهَا أَوْ نَقَصَ مِنْهَا فَلَمَّا أَتَمَّ قُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَحَدَثَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ شَيْءٌ؟ قَالَ فَثَنَى رِجْلَهُ فَسَجَدَ سَجْدَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ « لَوْ حَدَثَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ شَيْءٌ لَأَخْبَرْتُكُمْ بِهِ وَلَكِنْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ أَنْسَى كَمَا تَنْسَوْنَ فَإِذَا نَسِيتُ فَذَكِّرُونِي وَإِذَا أَحَدُكُمْ شَكَّ فِي صَلَاتِهِ فَلْيَتَحَرَّى الصَّوَابَ وَلْيَبْنِ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ لْيَسْجُدْ سَجْدَتَيْنِ»

صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَزَادَ أَوْ نَقَصَ فَقِيلَ لَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلْ حَدَثَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ شَيْءٌ؟ قَالَ «لَوْ حَدَثَ شَيْءٌ لَنَبَّأْتُكُمُوهُ وَلَكِنْ إِنَّمَا أَنَا بَشَرٌ أَنْسَى كَمَا تَنْسَوْنَ فَأَيُّكُمْ شَكَّ فِي صَلَاتِهِ فَلْيَنْظُرْ أَحْرَى ذَلِكَ إِلَى الصَّوَابِ فَلْيُتِمَّ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ يَقُومُ فَلْيَسْجُدْ سَجْدَتَيْنِ»
