[Machine] O Commander of the Faithful, I left in Kufa a man who recites the Quran from the depths of his heart, which angered Umar to the extent that his face swelled up, and then he said, "Who is he?" They said, "Abdullah bin Mas'ood." He said to Allah, "Is he your father? And who is more deserving of that than him?" I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say, "Whoever wishes to recite the Quran as it was revealed, then let him recite it in the recitation of Ibn Umm 'Abd."

ʿWhoever would like to recite the Qur'an fresh as it was revealed, let him recite it according to the recitation of Ibn Umm 'Abd.ʿ Umar bin al-Khattab narrated that the Prophet ﷺ said... a similar report, in which he said: crisp or fresh. (Using translation from Aḥmad 35)
