[Machine] From a hadith I heard from the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , he mentioned that one of the things I fear the most for my Ummah is associating partners with Allah and hidden desires. A person may wake up fasting and see something he desires, so he goes and indulges in it. As for associating partners with Allah, it is not that people worship stones or idols, but rather they perform actions only to show off to others.  

الطبراني:٧١٤٥حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ يَزِيدَ السُّلَمِيُّ الْبَصْرِيُّ ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ثنا عُبَادَةُ بْنُ نُسَيٍّ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى شَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ وَهُوَ يَبْكِي فَقُلْتُ مَا يُبْكِيكَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ؟ قَالَ

لِحَدِيثٍ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ يَذْكُرُهُ إِنَّ مِنْ أَخْوَفِ مَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي الشِّرْكَ بِاللهِ وَالشَّهْوَةَ الْخَفِيَّةَ يُصْبِحُ الرَّجُلُ صَائِمًا فَيَرَى الشَّيْءَ يَشْتَهِيهِ فَيُوَاقِعُهُ وَالشِّرْكُ قَوْمٌ لَا يَعْبُدُونَ حَجَرًا وَلَا وَثَنًا وَلَكِنْ يَعْمَلُونَ عَمَلًا يُرَاءُونَ
