ثَابِتُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ
[Machine] "The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Indeed, there are things that I dislike to be recited to me. Can you bear to learn Syriac?' I replied: 'Yes.' So, I learned it in seventeen days.' Abu Al-Qasim said: 'Abu Bakr ibn Ayyash narrated it from Adiy ibn Thabit and differed from the companions of Al-Amash in the chain of narration. If he memorized it, then it is a strange (narration) from the hadith of Adiy ibn Thabit. Otherwise, the narration is as the people narrated it from Al-Amash from Thabit ibn Ubayd.'"
لِي النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «إِنَّهُ يَرِدُ عَلَيَّ أَشْيَاءَ أَكْرَهُ أَنْ يُقْرَأَ أَفَتُطِيقُ أَنْ تَعَلَّمَ السُّرْيَانِيَّةَ؟» قُلْتُ نَعَمْ «فَتَعَلَّمْتُهَا فِي سَبْعَ عَشْرَةَ» قَالَ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ «هَكَذَا رَوَاهُ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ فَخَالَفَ أَصْحَابَ الْأَعْمَشِ فِي الْإِسْنَادِ فَإِنِ كَانَ حَفِظَهُ فَهُوَ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ» وَإِلَّا فَالْحُدِيثُ كَمَا رَوَاهُ النَّاسُ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ ثَابِتِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ
