Thābit Fasaʾalah Kayf Yaʾkul And Yashrab > Ashrab Ḥattá Idhā Ānqaṭaʿ al-Nafas Rafaʿt al-Ināʾ > Famī Waʾidhā Akalt Laʿiqt Aṣābiʿī Faʾinnī

[Machine] I drink until my breath stops, then I lift the cup from my mouth. And when I eat, I lick my fingers. For I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "When one of you eats, let him lick his fingers, for he does not know in which of his food the blessing lies."  

الطبراني:٤٩١٨حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ثنا عَبْدُ السَّلَامِ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي فَرْوَةَ عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ الْمُثَنَّى عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ أَرْسَلَ عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ مَرْوَانَ إِلَى زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ فَسَأَلَهُ كَيْفَ يَأْكُلُ وَيَشْرَبُ؟ قَالَ

أَشْرَبُ حَتَّى إِذَا انْقَطَعَ النَّفَسُ رَفَعْتُ الْإِنَاءَ عَنْ فَمِي وَإِذَا أَكَلْتُ لَعِقْتُ أَصَابِعِي فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «إِذَا أَكَلَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَلْعَقْ أَصَابِعَهُ فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَدْرِي فِي أَيِّ طَعَامِهِ تَكُونُ الْبَرَكَةُ»
