[Machine] "To know how knowledge is vanishing, this is how knowledge is vanishing. By Allah! Much knowledge has disappeared today." Sa'id bin Musayyib said, "And the one who says much knowledge has gone with him, meaning Ibn Abbas."  

الطبراني:٤٧٥١ – حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَابَهْرَامَ الْأَيْذَجِيُّ ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْقَيْسِيُّ ثنا رَوْحُ بْنٌ عُبَادَةَ ثنا أَبُو عَامِرٍ الْخَزَّازُ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ قَالَ شَهِدْتُ جَنَازَةَ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ فَلَمَّا دُلِّي فِي قَبْرِهِ قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ «يَا هَؤُلَاءِ §مَنْ سَرَّهُ

أَنْ يَعْلَمَ كَيْفَ ذَهَابُ الْعِلْمِ فَهَكَذَا ذَهَابُ الْعِلْمِ وَايْمُ اللهِ لَقَدْ ذَهَبَ الْيَوْمَ عِلْمٌ كَثِيرٌ» قَالَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ الْمُسَيِّبِ «وَالْقَائِلُ لَقَدْ ذَهَبَ بِهِ عِلْمٌ كَثِيرٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ»
