[Machine] Narrated by the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that while he was on the pulpit, a man approached and sat down. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ extended his hand and asked, "Oh so-and-so, did you perform two units of prayer before sitting?" He replied, "No." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then asked, "What prevented you from doing so?" The man replied, "Oh Messenger of Allah, I disliked attracting attention while you were standing." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came near us and said, "When one of you enters the mosque, let him start with two units of prayer before sitting."  

عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ أَنَّهُ بَيْنَمَا هُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَقُصُّ عَلَى النَّاسِ أَقْبَلَ رَجُلٌ حَتَّى جَلَسَ فَمَدَّ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَدَهُ فَقَالَ «يَا فُلَانُ أَرَكَعْتَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَجْلِسَ؟» قَالَ لَا قَالَ «فَمَا مَنَعَكَ؟» قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ كَرِهْتُ أَنْ أَشْخَصَ وَأَنْتَ قَائِمٌ فَأَقْبَلَ عَلَيْنَا فَقَالَ «إِذَا دَخَلَ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَسْجِدَ فَلْيَبْدَأْ فَلْيَرْكَعْ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَجْلِسَ»
