[Machine] He said, "Hudhayfah and his father were both present on the day of Badr, and Abu Jahl and his companions met them. They said to them, 'Perhaps you two are supporting Muhammad?' They replied, 'No.' He said, 'Then they made us promise not to help Muhammad against them.' When we met the Prophet, ﷺ , we informed him of this and said, 'O Prophet of Allah, the people pledged allegiance against us, but if you command us to fight with you, we will do so.' He said, 'No, we rely on Allah and we deny them.'"

[Machine] Hudhayfah and his father were taken by the polytheists before the Battle of Badr, and they intended to kill them. They made a pledge and covenant not to help them against us, then they sent them to the Prophet ﷺ . They said, "We made a covenant not to help them against us, but if you want, we will fight them with you." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Rather, we will pardon them and seek Allah's help against them."
