الْمُطَّلِبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ ؓ

tabarani:2902 – ʿAlī b. Saʿīd al-Rāzī > Yaʿqūb b. Ḥumayd > Sufyān b. Ḥamzah > Kathīr b. Zayd > al-Muṭṭalib b. ʿAbdullāh > Lammā Uḥīṭ Bi-al-Ḥusayn b. ʿAlī ؓ > Mā Āsm Hadhā al-Mawḍiʿ > Karbalāʾ

[Machine] "What is the name of this place?" They said Karbala. He said, "The Prophet ﷺ spoke the truth, it is distress and affliction."  

الطبراني:٢٩٠٢ – حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ حَمْزَةَ عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ لَمَّا أُحِيطَ بِالْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ؓ قَالَ

مَا اسْمُ هَذَا الْمَوْضِعِ؟ قَالُوا كَرْبَلَاءُ قَالَ «صَدَقَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ هِيَ كَرْبٌ وَبَلَاءٌ»
