[Machine] The mother of Kabsha, a woman from the tribe of Qudaa, said, "O Messenger of Allah, allow me to go out in the army of so and so." He said, "No." I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I do not want to fight, I only want to treat the wounded and sick, or to give water to the sick." He said, "If it were not for it being a Sunnah (recommended practice) and for fear of people saying, 'So and so's daughter went out,' I would have given you permission. But you may sit."  

الطبراني:٢١٩٩٢حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ثنا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الرُّؤَاسِيُّ عَنْ حَسَنِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْقُرَشِيِّ

أَنَّ أُمَّ كَبْشَةَ امْرَأَةً مِنْ عُذْرَةَ قُضَاعَةَ قَالَتْ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ائْذَنْ لِي أَنْ أَخْرُجَ فِي جَيْشِ كَذَا وَكَذَا قَالَ لَا قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ إِنَّمَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُدَاوِيَ الْجَرْحَى وَالْمَرْضَى أَوْ أَسْقِي الْمَرْضَى قَالَ لَوْلَا أَنْ تَكُونَ سُنَّةً وَأَنْ يُقَالَ فُلَانَةُ خَرَجَتْ لَأَذِنْتُ لَكِ وَلَكِنِ اجْلِسِي
