[Machine] The Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, "The hand of the thief should not be cut off except in the case of stealing a value equivalent to a Hajarah." This was established based on the ruling of the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , which is a dinar or ten dirhams.  

الطبراني:٢١٧٨٩حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ ثنا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ أُمِّ أَيْمَنَ عَنْ أُمِّ أَيْمَنَ قَالَتْ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَا يُقْطَعُ السَّارِقُ إِلَّا فِي حَجَفَةٍ» وَقُوِّمَتْ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ دِينَارًا أَوْ عَشَرَةَ دَرَاهِمَ

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ had a man's hand cut off for (stealing) a shield whose price was a dinar or ten dirhams. Abu Dawud said: Muhammad bin Salamah and Sa'dan bin Yahya have transmitted it from Ibn Ishaq through his chain of narrators.  

أبو داود:٤٣٨٧حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيِّ الْعَسْقَلاَنِيُّ وَهَذَا لَفْظُهُ وَهُوَ أَتَمُّ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ بْنِ مُوسَى عَنْ عَطَاءٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

قَطَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَدَ رَجُلٍ فِي مِجَنٍّ قِيمَتُهُ دِينَارٌ أَوْ عَشْرَةُ دَرَاهِمَ  

قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ رَوَاهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ وَسَعْدَانُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بِإِسْنَادِهِ
