[Machine] Abu Bakr went on a trade journey to Busra before the death of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ by a year. Nu'ayman and Suwaibit bin Harmalah accompanied him, and both had participated in the Battle of Badr. Nu'ayman had the provisions, so Suwaibit said to him, jokingly, "Feed me." He replied, "Wait until your companion comes." Then he mentioned the conversation.
خَرَجَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فِي تِجَارَةٍ إِلَى بُصْرَى قَبْلَ مَوْتِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بِعَامٍ وَمَعَهُ نُعَيْمَانِ وَسُوَيْبِطُ بْنُ حَرْمَلَةَ وَكَانَا شَهِدَا بَدْرًا وَكَانَ نُعَيْمَانُ عَلَى الزَّادِ فَقَالَ لَهُ سُوَيْبِطٌ وَكَانَ رَجُلًا مَزَّاحًا أَطْعِمْنِي قَالَ حَتَّى يَجِيءَ صَاحِبُكَ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ
