أَبُو غَادِيَةَ الْجُهَنِيُّ

[Machine] We were with 'Anbasa ibn Sa'id, and one day I rode to Al-Hajjaj. A man named Abu Ghadiyah al-Juhani came to him, and 'Abd al-A'la ibn 'Abdullah said to him, "Get up and go to him and tell him to come down and say, 'Now you go back.'" So we went to him and said to him, "Now you go back." He came down and 'Abd al-A'la entered to seek rain. Water was brought in a glass cup, but he refused to drink from it. Then it was brought in a pure cup and he drank from it. He said, "I have testified to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ that I will return to my family with the wealth." Rashid ibn Abu 'Ayadah asked, "And was she with you, O 'Abd al-A'la?" So 'Abd al-A'la reprimanded him and said, "They have divided it between them." He said, "I bear witness that his sermon on the day of 'Aqabah was, 'Your blood and your wealth are sacred to you, as sacred as this day of yours in this month of yours in this land of yours. Behold, do not become disbelievers after me, striking the necks of one another until the Day of Resurrection.' Until the day 'Uthman was besieged, I heard a man saying, 'Shall I not kill him?' So I looked at him and it was 'Ammar. If it were not for those who were behind him from his companions, I would have stabbed him." Then he said, "O Allah, if You will, make me meet him." When the day of Siffin came, I found myself facing an evil man leading a platoon. I looked at his shield and it slipped from his knee, so I struck him and behold, it was 'Ammar.  

الطبراني:١٩٢٠٧حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَكِّيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُمَرَ اللَّيْثِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ كُلْثُومِ بْنِ جَبْرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبِي قَالَ

كُنَّا عِنْدَ عَنْبَسَةَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ فَرَكِبْتُ يَوْمًا إِلَى الْحَجَّاجِ فَأَتَاهُ رَجُلٌ يُقَالُ لَهُ أَبُو غَادِيَةَ الْجُهَنِيُّ فَقَالَ لَهُ عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ قُومُوا إِلَيْهِ فَأَنْزَلُوهُ فَقُولُوا الْآنَ تَرْجِعُ فَخَرَجْنَا إِلَيْهِ فَقُلْنَا لَهُ الْآنَ تَرْجِعُ فَنَزَلَ فَدَخَلَ عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى فَاسْتَسْقَى فَأُتِيَ بِمَاءٍ فِي قَدَحِ زُجَاجٍ فَأَبَى أَنْ يَشْرَبَ فِي الزُّجَاجِ ثُمَّ أُتِيَ بِهِ فِي قَدَحِ نُضَارٍ فَشَرِبَ فَقَالَ بَايَعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا أَرُدُّ عَلَى أَهْلِي الْمَالَ فَقَالَ رَاشِدُ بْنُ أَبْيَضَ وَكَانَ مَعِي عِنْدَ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى أَبِيَمِينِكَ هَذِهِ؟ فَانْتَهَرَهُ عَبْدُ الْأَعْلَى وَقَالَ اقْتَسَمَا لَهُ قَالَ وَشَهِدْتُ خُطْبَتَهُ يَوْمَ الْعَقَبَةِ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «إِنَّ دِمَاءَكُمْ وَأَمْوَالَكُمْ عَلَيْكُمْ حَرَامٌ كَحُرْمَةِ يَوْمِكُمْ هَذَا فِي شَهْرِكُمْ هَذَا فِي بَلَدِكُمْ هَذَا أَلَا لَا تَرْجِعُوا بَعْدِي كُفَّارًا يَضْرِبُ بَعْضُكُمْ رِقَابَ بَعْضٍ» حَتَّى إِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ أُحِيطَ بِعُثْمَانَ سَمِعْتُ رَجُلًا وَهُوَ يَقُولُ «أَلَا لَا تَقْتُلْ هَذَا؟» فَنَظَرْتُ إِلَيْهِ فَإِذَا هُوَ عَمَّارٌ فَلَوْلَا مَنْ كَانَ خَلْفَهُ مِنْ أَصْحَابِهِ لَوَطَّنْتُ بَطْنَهُ فَقُلْتُ اللهُمَّ إِنْ تَشَأْ أَنْ يُلْقِينِيهِ فَلَمَّا كَانَ يَوْمُ صِفِّينَ إِذَا أَنَا بِرَجُلِ شَرٍّ يَقُودُ كَتِيبَةً رَاجِلًا فَنَظَرْتُ إِلَى الدِّرْعِ فَانْكَسَفَ عَنْ رُكْبَتِهِ فَأَطْعُنُهُ فَإِذَا هُوَ عَمَّارٌ
