[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said that the jinn exist in three categories: a category with wings that fly in the air, a category that are snakes/serpents, and a category that can possess and afflict people.  

الطبراني:١٨٨٦٧حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزَّاهِرِيَّةِ عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُشَنِيِّ

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ الْجِنُّ عَلَى ثَلَاثَةِ أَصْنَافٍ صِنْفٌ لَهُمْ أَجْنِحَةٌ يَطِيرُونَ فِي الْهَوَاءِ وَصِنْفٌ حَيَّاتٌ وَصِنْفٌ يَحِلُّونَ وَيَظْعَنُونَ

There are three types of Jinn

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The jinn are of three types: (1) one type has wings and they fly in the air, (2) another type are snakes and dogs, and (3) another type camp ˹at a place˺ and then ˹later˺ move ˹away˺."  

الحاكم:٣٧٠٢أَخْبَرَنِي أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْعَنْبَرِيُّ ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ثنا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِي الزَّاهِرِيَّةِ عَنْ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ نُفَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي ثَعْلَبَةَ الْخُشَنِيِّ قَالَ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «الْجِنُّ ثَلَاثَةُ أَصْنَافٍ صِنْفٌ لَهُمْ أَجْنِحَةٌ يَطِيرُونَ فِي الْهَوَاءِ وَصِنْفٌ حَيَّاتٌ وَكِلَابٌ وَصِنْفٌ يَحِلُّونَ وَيَظْعَنُونَ»  

هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحُ الْإِسْنَادِ وَلَمْ يُخَرِّجَاهُ صحيح

[Machine] I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ saying, "The jinn are of three types: a type that appears in the form of dogs and snakes, a type that flies in the air, and a type that travels and moves around."

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «الْجِنُّ عَلَى ثَلَاثَةِ أَصْنَافٍ صِنْفٌ كِلَابٌ وَحَيَّاتٌ وَصِنْفٌ يَطِيرُونَ فِي الْهَوَاءِ وَصِنْفٌ يَحُلُّونَ وَيَظْعَنُونَ»
