الْمِسْوَرُ بْنُ رِفَاعَةَ الْقُرَظِيُّ، عَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ

[Machine] I witnessed two sitting sessions with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ . In one of them, a funeral was brought and it was said, "This is so-and-so, what a wretched man he was." And I spoke ill of him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do you know that to be true?" They said, "Yes." He said, "Then it is necessary." As for the other session, a funeral of a man was brought and it was said, "This is so-and-so," and they praised him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Do you know that to be true?" They said, "Yes." He said, "Then it is necessary."  

شَهِدْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مَجْلِسَيْنِ أَمَا أَحَدُهُمَا فَأُتِيَ بِجِنَازَةٍ فَقِيلَ هَذَا فُلَانٌ وَبِئْسَ الرَّجُلُ وَأُثْنِيَ عَلَيْهِ شَرًّا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «تَعْلَمُونَ ذَلِكَ؟» فَقَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ «وَجَبَتْ» وَأَمَّا الْآخَرُ فَأُتِيَ بِجِنَازَةِ رَجُلٍ فَقَالُوا هَذَا فُلَانٌ وَأَثْنَوْا عَلَيْهِ خَيْرًا فَقَالَ «تَعْلَمُونَ ذَلِكَ؟» فَقَالُوا نَعَمْ قَالَ «وَجَبَتْ»
