الطبراني:١٥٣٤٧حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُقْرِئُ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ هِلَالٍ قَالَ لَمَّا هَاجَتِ الْفِتْنَةُ قَالَ عِمْرَانُ بْنُ الْحُصَيْنِ لِحُجَيرِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ الْعَدَوِيِّ «§اذْهَبْ إِلَى قَوْمِكَ فَانْهَهُمْ عَنِ الْفِتْنَةِ» فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَمَغْمُورٌ فِيهِمْ وَمَا أُطَاعُ قَالَ «فَأَبْلِغْهُمْ عَنِّي وَانْهَهُمْ عَنْهَا» قَالَ وَسَمِعْتُ عِمْرَانَ يُقْسِمُ بِاللهِ

«لِأَنْ أَكُونَ عَبْدًا حَبَشِيًّا أَسْوَدَ فِي أَعْيُنِ حَصَيَاتٍ فِي رَأْسِ جَبَلٍ أَرْعَاهُنَّ حَتَّى يُدْرِكَنِي أَجْلِي أَحَبَّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَرْمِيَ فِي أَحَدِ الصَّفَّيْنِ بِسَهْمٍ أَخْطَأْتُ أَمْ أَصَبْتُ»
