[Machine] When the Prophet ﷺ sent Al-Ala' bin Al-Hadrami to Bahrain, I followed him and observed three qualities in him that I don't know which one was more amazing. We reached the seaside, and they said, "Name and invade!" So we named and invaded, and we crossed over. The water barely reached the ankles of our camels. When we stopped, we found ourselves surrounded by sandy hills with no water. We complained to him, so he performed two Rak'ahs (units) of prayer, then supplicated. Suddenly, a cloud resembling a shield appeared and it poured rain. We drank and filled our containers. Abu Bakr sent him to Bahrain again, but he passed away after that. When Rabi'ah tribe turned back, Allah granted them victory and they gave what they had withheld from Zakah (alms). After he died, we buried him in the sand. When we were not far away, we said, "Seven people will come and eat him." So we returned, but we did not see them.  

لَمَّا بَعَثَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ الْعَلَاءَ بْنَ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ إِلَى الْبَحْرَيْنِ تَبِعْتُهُ فَرَأَيْتُ مِنْهُ ثَلَاثَ خِصَالٍ لَا أَدْرِي أَيَّتُهُنَّ أَعْجَبُ انْتَهَيْنَا إِلَى شَاطِئِ الْبَحْرِ فَقَالُوا سَمُّوا وَاقْتَحِمُوا فَسَمَّيْنَا وَاقْتَحَمْنَا فَعَبَرْنَا فَمَا بَلَّ الْمَاءُ إِلَّا أَسَافِلَ أَخْفَافِ إِبِلِنَا فَلَمَّا قَفَلْنَا صِرْنَا بَعْدُ بِفَلَاةٍ مِنَ الْأَرْضِ فَلَيْسَ مَعَنَا مَاءٌ فَشَكَوْنَا إِلَيْهِ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ دَعَا فَإِذَا سَحَابَةٌ مِثْلُ التُّرْسِ ثُمَّ أَرْخَتْ عَزَالِيَهَا فَسَقَيْنَا وَاسْتَقَيْنَا وَمَاتَ بَعْدَ مَا بَعَثَهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ إِلَى الْبَحْرَيْنِ لَمَّا ارْتَدَّتْ رَبِيعَةُ فَأَظْفَرَهُ اللهُ بِهِمْ وَأَعْطُوا مَا مَنَعُوا مِنَ الزَّكَاةِ وَمَاتَ فَدَفَنَّاهُ فِي الرَّمْلِ فَلَمَّا سِرْنَا غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍ قُلْنَا يَجِيءُ سَبْعٌ فَيَأْكُلُهُ فَرَجَعْنَا فَلَمْ نَرَهُ
