عَائِذُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْجَسْرِيُّ «وَهُوَ حَيٌّ مِنْ عَنَزَةَ مِنْ رَبِيعَةَ»
[Machine] Sumair bin Zuhair al-Jasri said, "O Messenger of Allah, my brother Salamah bin Zuhair went out as a migrant for the sake of Allah and His Messenger. He encountered the shepherds of your horses from the Banu Ghufr tribe, who killed him during the sacred month. There was blood feud between us and them during the time of ignorance. The Messenger of Allah called them and asked them about it. They said, 'We found him driving your horses and we wanted to take them back, but he resisted us, so we killed him.' I don't know whether they were telling the truth or they were swearing falsely, except that my brother had asked him about embracing Islam and did not find any clear evidence, thus he reasoned that the sanctity of the sacred month was violated. Fifty of the camels were left with his family, which indeed are the most virtuous and blessed."
