[Machine] He informed him that he stood by Ja'far that day while he was dead. He said, "I counted in him fifty between a stab and a hit, none of which had anything in his back."
أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ وَقَفَ عَلَى جَعْفَرٍ يَوْمَئِذٍ وَهُوَ قَتِيلٌ قَالَ «فَعَدَدْتُ فِيهِ خَمْسِينَ بَيْنَ طَعْنَةٍ وَضَرْبَةٍ لَيْسَ فِيهَا شَيْءٌ مِنْ دُبُرِهِ»
Ibn ʿUmar informed me that on the day (of Mu'tah) he stood beside Jaʿfar who was dead (i.e. killed in the battle), and he counted fifty wounds in his body, caused by stabs or strokes, and none of those wounds was in his back.
