[Machine] Al-Hajjaj said to him, "Get up and behead this man." So, Salim took the sword and took hold of the man and headed towards the door of the palace. His father looked at him while he was heading toward the man and said, "Do you see him doing it?" He replied to him twice or three times, but when he went out with him, Salim asked him, "Did you perform the morning prayer?" He replied, "Yes." Salim said, "Then take any path you want." Then, he came and threw the sword, and Al-Hajjaj said to him, "Did you behead him?" He replied, "No." Al-Hajjaj asked, "And why not?" He replied, "Because I heard my father saying that the Messenger of Allah, ﷺ , said, 'Whoever performs the morning prayer, he is under the protection of Allah until evening'." So, Ibn Umar said, "Makis (a nickname), we named you Salim so that you will be safe."
