[Machine] I was with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and he recited this verse: "Indeed, Allah does not like everyone who is self-deluded and boastful." Thabit ibn Qays mentioned arrogance and the Prophet ﷺ magnified it. Thabit ibn Qays started crying, so the Prophet ﷺ asked him, "What makes you cry?" He replied, "O Messenger of Allah, I love beauty. It appeals to me that my shoes should be beautiful." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then you are from the people of Paradise. Arrogance is not in improving your ride and wearing good shoes. Rather, arrogance is rejecting the truth and looking down upon people."
