[Machine] "If this verse was revealed to us, we would not take that day as a celebration." Ibn Abbas said: "Indeed, it was revealed on two occasions: on the day of Jumu'ah (Friday) and on the day of Arafah."  

الطبراني:١٢٨٣٥ – حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ أَنَّ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ قَرَأَ هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ {§الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي} إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ وَعِنْدَهُ يَهُودِيٌّ فَقَالَ

لَوْ أُنْزِلَتْ عَلَيْنَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةُ لَاتَّخَذْنَا يَوْمَهَا عِيدًا فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَإِنَّهَا نَزَلَتْ فِي يَوْمِ عِيدَيْنِ اثْنَيْنِ جُمُعَةٍ وَيَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ

So Ibn 'Abbas said: 'Indeed it was revealed on two 'Eids: On Friday, and on the Day of 'Arafah.'"  

الترمذي:٣٠٤٤ – حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ قَالَ قَرَأَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ ( الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ الإِسْلاَمَ دِينًا ) وَعِنْدَهُ يَهُودِيٌّ فَقَالَ

لَوْ أُنْزِلَتْ هَذِهِ عَلَيْنَا لاَتَّخَذْنَا يَوْمَهَا عِيدًا قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ فَإِنَّهَا نَزَلَتْ فِي يَوْمِ عِيدٍ فِي يَوْمِ جُمُعَةٍ وَيَوْمِ عَرَفَةَ  

قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَهُوَ صَحِيحٌ
