[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the Fajr prayer on the day of Ashura, and after he finished, he said, "Whoever among you started the day fasting, let him complete his fast, and whoever did not start the day fasting, let him abstain from eating for the rest of the day, for this is the day on which Musa overcame Pharaoh, and the Jews used to fast on this day as an act of gratitude, so we have more right to observe fast and show gratitude."  

الطبراني:١٢٤٢٥حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ غُلَيْبٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْجُعْفِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَمَانٍ ثنا سُفْيَانُ عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

صَلَّى رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ الْفَجْرَ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قَالَ «مَنْ كَانَ أَصْبَحَ مِنْكُمْ صَائِمًا فَلْيُتِمَّ صَوْمَهُ وَمَنْ لَمْ يُصْبِحْ صَائِمًا فَلَا يَأْكُلَنَّ شَيْئًا فَإِنَّ هَذَا يَوْمٌ نُصِرَ فِيهِ مُوسَى عَلَى فِرْعَوْنَ فَصَامَتْهُ الْيَهُودُ شُكْرًا فَنَحْنُ أَحَقُّ بِالشُّكْرِ»
