"إِنَّ خيرًا لَكَ أَن لا تأخذَ من الناسِ شيئًا، إِنَّما ذَلِكَ أَن تسأَلَ الناسَ، وما جاءَ من غير مسأَلةٍ فإِنَّمَا هو رزقٌ رزَقَكَهُ اللَّهُ تعالى".

[Machine] I said, "O Messenger of Allah, did you not tell me, 'It is better for you not to ask anyone for anything?'" He said, "That is only if you ask people and what Allah has given you is without asking, for it is provision that Allah has bestowed upon you."  

الزهد لأحمد:١٣٠حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ عُمَرَ قَالَ

قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَلَيْسَ قَدْ قُلْتَ لِي «إِنَّ خَيْرًا لَكَ أَنْ لَا تَسْأَلَ أَحَدًا شَيْئًا؟» قَالَ «إِنَّمَا ذَاكَ أَنْ تَسْأَلَ النَّاسَ وَمَا آتَاكَ اللَّهُ مِنْ غَيْرِ مَسْأَلَةٍ فَإِنَّمَا هُوَ رِزْقٌ رَزَقَكَهُ اللَّهُ ﷻ»
