"عَنْ مَعْمَر، عَنْ سَهْلِ بنِ صَالِح، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِى هُرَيْرَة أنَّ النبىَّ ﷺ قَالَ: إِذَا شَرِبُوا فاجْلِدُوهُمْ، قَالَهَا ثَلَاثًا، قال: فإذَا شَرِبُوا الرابِعَةَ فاقْتُلُوهُمْ، قال مَعْمَر، فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لابنِ المنْكَدِرِ فَقَالَ: قَد تَركَ القَتْلَ، قَد أُتِى النبىُّ ﷺ بابن النعيمان فَجَلَدَهُ، ثُمَّ أُتِىَ بِه فَجَلَدَه، ثُم أُتِىَ بِهِ فَجَلَده، ثُمَّ أُتِىَ بِه فَجَلَدهُ الرَّابِعَةَ أَوْ أكثْر".

Ma'mar said, "I mentioned this to Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, and he said, 'This was abandoned after the Prophet ﷺ ordered the punishment of Ibn Nu'aym.
