some dates from trees that were irrigated artificially were brought to the Messenger of Allah and the dates of the messenger of Allah were dates from trees that were nourished by their roots. He said: "Where did you get these from?" They said: "We bought a Sa of them for two Sa s of our dates: He said: "Do not do that, for this is not right. Rather sell your dates and but what you need of these,"

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ أُتِيَ بِتَمْرٍ رَيَّانٍ وَكَانَ تَمْرُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ بَعْلاً فِيهِ يُبْسٌ فَقَالَ أَنَّى لَكُمْ هَذَا قَالُوا ابْتَعْنَاهُ صَاعًا بِصَاعَيْنِ مِنْ تَمْرِنَا فَقَالَ لاَ تَفْعَلْ فَإِنَّ هَذَا لاَ يَصِحُّ وَلَكِنْ بِعْ تَمْرَكَ وَاشْتَرِ مِنْ هَذَا حَاجَتَكَ

[AI] The Prophet of Allah ﷺ was brought some fresh dates. The dates of the Prophet of Allah ﷺ were dried and had become hard. So he asked, "What is wrong with these dates?" They replied, "These are dates that we bought two measures of in exchange for our one measure of dates." The Prophet ﷺ said, "This is not permissible. Instead, sell your dates and then buy."

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ أُتِيَ بِتَمْرٍ رَيَّانَ وَكَانَ تَمْرُ نَبِيِّ اللهِ ﷺ تَمْرًا بَعْلًا فِيهِ يَبْسٌ فَقَالَ أَنَّى لَكُمْ هَذَا التَّمْرُ؟ فَقَالُوا هَذَا تَمْرٌ ابْتَعْنَا صَاعًا بِصَاعَيْنِ مِنْ تَمْرِنَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَا يَصْلُحُ ذَلِكَ وَلَكِنْ بِعْ تَمْرَكَ ثُمَّ ابْتَعْ

[AI] That a young boy came to the Prophet ﷺ one day with fresh dates. The dates of the Prophet ﷺ were dry. The Prophet ﷺ said, "How did you get these dates?" The boy said, "We bought a saa' of our dates with two saa's of these dates." The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not do this, for this is not permissible. Instead, sell your dates and buy whichever dates you wish."

أَنَّ غُلَامًا لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَتَاهُ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ بِتَمْرٍ رَيَّانَ وَكَانَ تَمْرُ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ بَعْلًا فِيهِ يُبْسٌ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ أَنَّى لَكَ هَذَا التَّمْرُ؟ فَقَالَ هَذَا صَاعٌ اشْتَرَيْنَاهُ بِصَاعَيْنِ مِنْ تَمْرِنَا فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ لَا تَفْعَلْ فَإِنَّ هَذَا لَا يَصْلُحُ وَلَكِنْ بِعْ تَمْرَكَ وَاشْتَرِ مِنْ أَيِّ تَمْرٍ شِئْتَ
