أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ

[Machine] I made enough food for the Prophet ﷺ and Abu Bakr, and I brought it to them. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me, "Go and invite thirty honorable members of the Ansar." This was difficult for me, so I said, "I don't have anything to add to it." It was as if I forgot, so he said, "Go and invite thirty honorable members of the Ansar." I invited them and they came, and he said, "Feed them." They ate until they were satisfied, and then they testified that he was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They pledged allegiance to him before leaving. Then he said, "Go and invite sixty honorable members of the Ansar." Abu Ayub said, "By Allah, I am more generous than me with the thirty." He invited them and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Stop." They ate until they were satisfied, and then they testified that he was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They pledged allegiance to him before leaving. Then he said, "Go and invite ninety people from the Ansar." He said, "For I am more generous than me with the ninety and the sixty." I invited them and they came. They ate until they were satisfied, and then they testified that he was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. They pledged allegiance to him before leaving. Thus, one hundred and eighty men from the Ansar ate from my food.  

صَنَعْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَأَبِي بَكْرٍ طَعَامًا قَدْرَ مَا يَكْفِيهُمَا فَأَتَيْتُهُمَا بِهِ فَقَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اذْهَبْ فَادْعُ لِي ثَلَاثِينَ مِنْ أَشْرَافِ الْأَنْصَارِ» فَشَقَّ عَلَيَّ ذَلِكَ قُلْتُ مَا عِنْدِي شَيْءٌ أَزِيدُهُ فَكَأَنِّي تَغَفَّلْتُ فَقَالَ «اذْهَبْ فَادْعُ لِي ثَلَاثِينَ مِنْ أَشْرَافِ الْأَنْصَارِ» فَدَعَوْتُهُمْ فَجَاءُوا فَقَالَ «اطْعَمُوا» فَأَكَلُوا حَتَّى صَدَرُوا ثُمَّ شَهِدُوا أَنَّهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ بَايَعُوهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْرُجُوا ثُمَّ قَالَ «اذْهَبْ فَادْعُ لِي سِتِّينَ مِنْ أَشْرَافِ الْأَنْصَارِ» قَالَ أَبُو أَيُّوبَ وَاللهِ لَأَنَا بِسِتِّينَ أَجْوَدُ مِنِّي بِالثَّلَاثِينَ قَالَ فَدَعَوْتُهُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «تَوَقَّفُوا» فَأَكَلُوا حَتَّى صَدَرُوا ثُمَّ شَهِدُوا أَنَّهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ بَايَعُوهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْرُجُوا ثُمَّ قَالَ «اذْهَبْ فَادْعُ لِي تِسْعِينَ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ» قَالَ فَلَأَنَا أَجْوَدُ بِالتِّسْعِينَ وَالسِّتِّينَ مِنِّي بِالثَّلَاثِينَ قَالَ فَدَعَوْتُهُمْ فَأَكَلُوا حَتَّى صَدَرُوا ثُمَّ شَهِدُوا أَنَّهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ ثُمَّ بَايَعُوهُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْرُجُوا فَأَكَلَ مِنْ طَعَامِي ذَلِكَ مِائَةٌ وَثَمَانُونَ رَجُلًا كُلُّهُمْ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ
