"عَنْ أَبِى أُمَامَةَ قَالَ: لَقَدْ تُوفِىَّ رَجُلٌ في عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَمْ يَجِدُوا لَهُ كَفَنًا، فَقَالُوا: يا نَبِىَّ اللهِ: إِنَا لَمْ نَجِدْ له كَفَنًا، قَالَ: التمِسُوا في ميْزَرِهِ فَوَجَدُوا دِينَاريْنِ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ : كَيَّتَانِ صَلُّوا عَلَى صَاحِبِكُمْ".
[AI] A man passed away during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and there was no shroud available for him. So they went to the Prophet ﷺ and he said, "Look for the edges of his garment." They found one or two dinars and he said, "Perform the funeral prayer for your companion." Then a man said to me, "May I spend it, O Messenger of Allah?" So he prayed the funeral prayer for him.
تُوُفِّيَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَلَمْ يُوجَدْ لَهُ كَفَنٌ فَأَتَوُا النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ «انْظُرُوا إِلَى دَاخِلَةِ إِزَارِهِ» فَأُصِيبَ دِينَارٌ أَوْ دِينَارَانِ فَقَالَ «كَيَّتَانِ صَلُّوا عَلَى صَاحِبَكُمْ» فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ إِلَيَّ قَضَاؤُهَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ
[AI] I heard Abu Umamah say, "A man died during the time of the Prophet ﷺ and they could not find a shroud for him. They said, 'O Messenger of Allah, we could not find a shroud for him.' He said, 'Look in his garment.' So they found two dinars and the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Give them as charity and pray for your companion.'"
