"عَنْ أَبِى عُبَيْدِ بْنِ الأَحْوَصِ (*) قَالَ: شَهِدْتُ عَلِيّا وَهُوَ يُقَسِّمُ خُمْسًا بَيْنَ النَّاسِ فَسَرقَ رَجُلٌ مِن حَضْرَمَوْت مِغْفَرَ حَدِيدٍ مِنَ الْمَتَاعِ، فَأُتَى بِه عَلِىٌّ فَقَالَ: لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ قَطْعٌ، ألَا هُوَ خَائِنٌ وَلَهُ نَصيِبٌ".

[AI] I witnessed Ali ᴿᴬ in the Rahbah while he was distributing a fifth among the people. A man from Hadramawt stole an iron helmet from the goods, so he was brought to Ali ᴿᴬ, and he said: There is no amputation upon him; he is a betrayer, and he has a share.
