"عَنْ عَلِىٍّ قَالَ: مَنْ جَرتْ عَلَيهِ نَفَقَتُكَ فَاطْعِمْ عَنْهُ نِصْفَ صَاعٍ مِنْ بُرٍّ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ".

[Machine] Whoever you have been responsible for providing for, feed them half a saa' of wheat or a saa' of dates. This is obligatory, and the slave is not strong except when he joins with what came before him in strength in what they both gathered in.
