[Machine] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Indeed, Allah revealed to Yahya, son of Zachariah (peace be upon them), with five words that he should act upon and command the Children of Israel to act upon. He seemed to delay in conveying them, so Jesus ﷺ came to him and said: 'Indeed, Allah has commanded you with five words that you should act upon and command the Children of Israel to act upon. Either you inform them or I will inform them.' Yahya replied: 'O brother, do not do so, for I fear that if you inform them before me, I will be swallowed and punished.' Jesus said: 'So gather the Children of Israel in the Masjid al-Aqsa until it fills up and let them sit on the parapets, then give them a sermon.' Yahya did as he was told and said: 'Indeed, Allah has revealed to me with five words that I should act upon and command the Children of Israel to act upon. The first of them is to not associate partners with Allah. Verily, the example of one who associates others with Allah is like a man who buys a slave with his wealth, whether it be gold or silver, then shelters him in a house and says to him: 'Do work and bring it to me,' but the slave works and brings it to someone other than his master. Which one of you would be pleased if his slave is like that? Verily, Allah has created you and provided for you, so do not associate anything with Him. And when you stand for prayer, do not look around, for indeed Allah turns His face towards His slave as long as the latter does not turn away. He has also commanded you with fasting, and the example of fasting is like a man who has a group of people with him, each one of them carrying a bag filled with musk. They all love to find its fragrance. Indeed, the fragrance of fasting is like the fragrance of musk. He has also commanded you with giving charity, and the example of giving charity is like a man whom his enemy has captured and secured his hands on his neck, ready to kill him. But the man extends his hand to his enemy, providing him with whatever he wishes, even if it is little or abundant, until he saves himself from death. And He has also commanded you with abundant remembrance of Allah, and the example of abundant remembrance of Allah is like a man whom his enemy chases rapidly until he reaches a fortified castle and secures himself inside. Similarly, the slave does not escape from Shaytan except through the remembrance of Allah.'"  

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَوْحَى إِلَى يَحْيَى بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلَامُ بِخَمْسِ كَلِمَاتٍ أَنَّ يَعْمَلَ بِهِنَّ وَيَأْمُرَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ أَنْ يَعْمَلُوا بِهِنَّ وَكَأَنَّهُ أَبْطَأَ بِهِنَّ فَأَتَاهُ عِيسَى عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَمَرَكَ بِخَمْسِ كَلِمَاتٍ أَنْ تَعْمَلَ بِهِنَّ وَتَأْمُرَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ أَنْ يَعْمَلُوا بِهِنَّ فَإِمَّا أَنْ تُخْبِرَهُمْ وَإِمَّا أَنْ أُخْبِرَهُمْ قَالَ يَا أَخِي لَا تَفْعَلْ فَإِنِّي أَخَافُ إِنْ سَبَقْتَنِي بِهِنَّ أَنْ يُخْسَفَ بِي وَأُعَذَّبَ قَالَ فَجَمَعَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ بِبَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ حَتَّى امْتَلَأَ الْمَسْجِدُ وَقَعَدُوا عَلَى الشُّرُفَاتِ ثُمَّ خَطَبَهُمْ فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ أَوْحَى إِلَيَّ بِخَمْسِ كَلِمَاتٍ أَنْ أَعْمَلَ بِهِنَّ وآمُرَ بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ أَنْ يَعْمَلُوا بِهِنَّ أُولَاهُنَّ أَنْ لَا تُشْرِكُوا بِاللَّهِ شَيْئًا فَإِنَّ مَثَلَ مَنْ أَشْرَكَ بِاللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ رَجُلٍ اشْتَرَى عَبْدًا مِنْ خَالِصِ مَالِهِ بِذَهَبٍ أَوْ وَرِقٍ ثُمَّ أَسْكَنَهُ دَارًا فَقَالَ اعْمَلْ وَارْفَعْ إِلَيَّ فَجَعَلَ يَعْمَلُ وَيَرْفَعُ إِلَى غَيْرِ سَيِّدِهِ فَأَيُّكُمْ يَرْضَى أَنْ يَكُونَ عَبْدُهُ كَذَلِكَ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ خَلَقَكُمْ وَرَزَقَكُمْ فَلَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا وَإِذَا قُمْتُمْ إِلَى الصَّلَاةِ فَلَا تَلْتَفِتُوا فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يُقْبِلُ بِوَجْهِهِ إِلَى وَجْهِ عَبْدِهِ مَا لَمْ يَلْتَفِتْ وَأَمَرَكُمْ بِالصِّيَامِ وَمَثَلُ ذَلِكَ كَمَثَلِ رَجُلٍ فِي عِصَابَةٍ مَعَهُ صُرَّةُ مِسْكٍ كُلُّهُمْ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَجِدَ رِيحَهَا وَإِنَّ رِيحَ الصِّيَامِ كَرِيحِ الْمِسْكِ وَأَمَرَكُمْ بِالصَّدَقَةِ وَمَثَلُ ذَلِكَ كَمَثَلِ رَجُلٍ أَسَرَهُ الْعَدُوُّ فَأَوْثَقُوا يَدَهُ إِلَى عُنُقِهِ وَقَرَّبُوهُ لِيَضْرِبُوا عُنُقَهُ فَجَعَلَ يَقُولُ هَلْ لَكُمْ أَنْ أَفْدِيَ نَفْسِي مِنْكُمْ وَجَعَلَ يُعْطِي الْقَلِيلَ وَالْكَثِيرَ حَتَّى فَدَى نَفْسَهُ وَأَمَرَكُمْ بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ كَثِيرًا وَمَثَلُ ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ كَمَثَلِ رَجُلٍ طَلَبَهُ الْعَدُوُّ سِرَاعًا فِي أَثَرِهِ حَتَّى أَتَى حِصْنًا حَصِينًا فَأَحْرَزَ نَفْسَهُ فِيهِ وَكَذَلِكَ الْعَبْدُ لَا يَنْجُو مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ إِلَّا بِذِكْرِ اللَّهِ  

"بَعَثَ اللهُ يَحْيَى بْنَ زَكَرِيَّا إِلَى بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ بِخَمْسِ كَلمَاتٍ، فَلَمَّا بَعَثَ اللهُ عيسى قَال اللهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالى: يَا عِيسَى قُلْ لِيَحْيى بْنِ زَكَرِيَّا: إمَّا أنْ تُبَلِّغ مَا أرْسِلتَ بِه إِلَى بَنى إِسْرَائِيلَ، وَإمَّا أنْ (أُبَلِّغَهُمْ) فخرج يَحْيَى حَتَّى صَارَ إِلَى بنِى إِسْرَائِيلَ فقَال: إِنَّ اللهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالى أمَرَكُمْ أن تَعْبُدُوهُ، وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيئًا، وَمَثلُ ذَلِكَ كمَثَلِ رَجُلٍ أعْتَقَ رَجُلًا وَأحْسَنَ إِلَيهِ، وَأعْطَاهُ، فانْطَلَقَ وَكَفَرَ بِنعْمَتِه، وَوَالى غَيره، وَإِنَّ اللهَ يَأمُرُكُمْ أنْ تُقِيمُوا الصَّلاةَ، وَتُؤتُوا الزَّكَاةَ، وَمثلُ ذَلِكَ كَمَثَلِ رَجُلٍ أَسَرَهُ العَدُوُّ فَأرَادُوا قَتْلَهُ فَقَال: لَا تَقتُلُونِى فَإِنَّ لِي كنْزًا، وَأنَا أُفْدِى نَفْسِى، فَأعْطَاهُمْ كنْزَهُ وَنَجَا بِنَفْسِه، وَإنَّ اللهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالى يَأمُرُكُمْ أَنْ تَصَدَّقُوا، وَمَثَلُ ذَلكَ كَمَثَلِ رَجُلٍ مَشِى إِلى عَدُوِّهِ وَقَدْ أَخَذَ لِلقِتَالِ جُنَّته، فَلَا يُبَالِى مِنْ حَيثُ أُتِيَ، وَإنَّ اللهَ يَأَمُرُكمْ أن تَقْرَؤُوا الكتَاب، وَمِثلُ ذلكَ كمِثلِ قَوْمٍ في حِصنهم صَارَ إِلَيهمْ عَدُوُهُم، وَقَدُ أَعَدُّوا فِي كلِّ نَاحِيةٍ مِنْ نوَاحِى الحصنِ قومًا، فليس يأتيهم عَدُّوهم من ناحية من نواحى الحصن إِلَّا وَبَينَ أَيدِيهمْ مَنْ يَدْرَؤُهُم عَنْ الحِصْنِ، لذَلِكَ مَثَلُ مَنْ يَقْرَأُ القُرآنَ لَا يَزَالُ فِي أَحْصَنِ حِصْنِ" .
