"عَنْ زَيْد بْن أسْلَمَ أَن عُمَرَ بْن الخَطَّابِ قَالَ لصُهَيبِ: لَوْلاَ ثَلاَثُ خِصَالٍ مِنْكَ لَمْ يَكُنْ بكَ بأس، قَالَ: وَمَا هُن؟ فَوَالله مَا نَرَاكَ تَعِيبُ شَيْئًا، قَالَ: اكْتِنَاؤُكَ بِأَبى يَحْيىَ وَلَيْسَ لَكَ وَلَد، وَادِّعَاؤكُ إِلَى النَّمْر بْنِ قَاسِط وَأنْتَ رَجُل ألكَنُ (*)، وِإنَّكَ لاَ تمْسكُ المَالَ، قَالَ أمَّا اكْتنَائِى بأبى يَحْيى فَإِن رَسُولَ الله ﷺ كنَّانى بِهَا فَلاَ أدَعُها حَتَّى ألقَاهُ، وأمَّا ادعائِى إِلَى النَّمْر بْنِ قَاسطٍ فَإِنّى امْرُؤ منْهُمْ وَلَكِنْ اسْتَرضع لى بِالأيلِة فَهَذهِ مِنْ ذَاكَ، وَأما المالُ فَهَلْ تَرَانِى أنْفِقُ إِلا في حَقٍّ".

[Machine] "For Suhayb, if it were not for three qualities in you, there would not be anything wrong with you." He asked, "What are they?" The Prophet replied, "By Allah, we do not see anything blameworthy in you." He said, "The first is that you are associated with your father, Yahya, even though you do not have any children. The second is that you call upon Al-Namir bin Qasit, even though you are a man known for your silence. And the third is that you do not hold onto wealth." He said, "As for being associated with my father, Allah's messenger ﷺ called me by that name, so I will not abandon it until I meet him. As for calling upon Al-Namir bin Qasit, I am one of them, but I was breastfed by a she-camel, so this nickname comes from that. And as for wealth, do you see me spending except in a rightful manner?"
