"يَا حُذَيْفَةُ: مَا تَدْرِى مَا حَقُّ الله عَلَى الْعِبَادِ؟ يَعْبُدُونَهُ لاَ يُشْرِكُونَ بِهِ شَيْئًا، يَا حُذَيفَةُ: تَدْرِى مَا حَقُّ الْعِبَادِ عَلَى الله إِذَا فَعَلُوا ذَلِكَ؟ يَغْفِرُ لَهُمْ".

Mu'adh, do you know the right of Allah over His bondsmen? He (Mu'adh) said: Allah and His Apostle know best. He (the Messenger of Allah) said: That Allah alone should be worshipped and nothing should be associated with Him. He (the Holy Prophet) said: What right have they (bondsmen) upon Him in case they do it? He (Mu'adh) said: Allah and His Apostle know best. He (the Holy Prophet) said: That He would not punish them.
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ يَا مُعَاذُ أَتَدْرِي مَا حَقُّ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْعِبَادِ قَالَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ أَنْ يُعْبَدَ اللَّهُ وَلاَ يُشْرَكَ بِهِ شَىْءٌ قَالَ أَتَدْرِي مَا حَقُّهُمْ عَلَيْهِ إِذَا فَعَلُوا ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ أَنْ لاَ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ
that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do you know what Allah's right upon His slaves is?" I said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "His right upon them is that they worship Him alone and do not associate any partners with Him." He said: "And do you know what their right over Allah is if they do that?" I said: "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said: "That He will not punish them."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ أَتَدْرِي مَا حَقُّ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْعِبَادِ قُلْتُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ فَإِنَّ حَقَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ يَعْبُدُوهُ وَلاَ يُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا قَالَ فَتَدْرِي مَا حَقُّهُمْ عَلَيْهِ إِذَا فَعَلُوا ذَلِكَ قُلْتُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ أَنْ لاَ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ غَيْرِ وَجْهٍ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ
“The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by me when I was riding a donkey, and said: ‘O Mu’adh, do you know what Allah’s right over His slaves is and what His slaves’ right over Allah is?’ I said: ‘Allah and His Messenger know best.’ He said: ‘The right of Allah over His slaves is that they should worship Him and not associate anything with Him. And the right of the slaves over Allah, if they do that, is that He should not punish them.’”
مَرَّ بِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ وَأَنَا عَلَى حِمَارٍ فَقَالَ يَا مُعَاذُ هَلْ تَدْرِي مَا حَقُّ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْعِبَادِ وَمَا حَقُّ الْعِبَادِ عَلَى اللَّهِ قُلْتُ اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ فَإِنَّ حَقَّ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْعِبَادِ أَنْ يَعْبُدُوهُ وَلاَ يُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا وَحَقُّ الْعِبَادِ عَلَى اللَّهِ إِذَا فَعَلُوا ذَلِكَ أَنْ لاَ يُعَذِّبَهُمْ
[AI] I was riding behind the Messenger of Allah ﷺ when he said, "O Mu'adh, do you know what rights Allah has upon His servants?" I said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "The right of Allah upon His servants is that they worship Him alone and do not associate anything with Him." He then said, "Do you know what rights the servants have upon Allah if they do that?" I said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "He will not punish them."
كُنْتُ رِدْفَ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا مُعَاذُ أَتَدْرِي مَا حَقُّ اللهِ عَلَى الْعِبَادِ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ أَنْ تَعْبُدُوهُ وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا قَالَ فَهَلْ تَدْرِي مَا حَقُّ الْعِبَادِ عَلَى اللهِ إِذَا هُمْ فَعَلُوا ذَلِكَ؟ قُلْتُ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ لَا يُعَذِّبُهُمْ
[AI] I was sitting next to the Prophet ﷺ, and he said, "Do you know the rights that Allah has upon His servants?" I said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "That they worship Him alone and associate nothing with Him." He then asked, "Do you know the rights of the servants upon Allah if they fulfill that?" I said, "That He forgives them and does not punish them." Ma'mar said in his narration, "I asked, 'O Messenger of Allah, should I not give glad tidings to the people?'" He said, "Let them work."

Mu'adh, do you know the right of Allah over His bondsmen? He (Mu'adh) said: Allah and His Apostle know best. I said, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "He will admit them to Paradise."

[AI] Narrated from the wonders of the Prophet's speech ﷺ he said, "I used to be behind the Prophet ﷺ on a donkey. He said, 'O Mu'adh!' So I said, 'Labbayk, O Messenger of Allah.' He said, 'Do you know the right of Allah upon His servants?' I said, 'Allah and His Messenger know best.' He said, 'The right of Allah upon His servants is to worship Him alone and not associate anything with Him. Do you know what the right of the servants upon Allah is if they do that?' I said, 'Allah and His Messenger know best.' He said, 'The right of the servants upon Allah is that He does not punish them.'
حَدِّثْنَا مِنْ غَرَائِبِ حَدِيثِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ فَقَالَ كُنْتُ رِدْفَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ عَلَى حِمَارٍ فَقَالَ يَا مُعَاذُ فَقُلْتُ لَبَّيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ أَتَدْرِي مَا حَقُّ اللهِ عَلَى الْعِبَادِ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ فَإِنَّ حَقَّ اللهِ عَلَى الْعِبَادِ أَنْ يَعْبُدُوهُ وَلَا يُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا فَهَلْ تَدْرِي مَا حَقُّ الْعِبَادِ عَلَى اللهِ إِذَا فَعَلُوا ذَلِكَ؟ قَالَ قُلْتُ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ فَإِنَّ حَقَّ الْعِبَادِ عَلَى اللهِ إِذَا فَعَلُوا ذَلِكَ أَنْ لَا يُعَذِّبَهُمْ
Paradise is Granted Only to Those Who Fulfill the Described Branches of Faith and Accompany Them with Other Acts of Worship That Are Physical Actions, and Not to Those Who Only Profess Faith Without Action in Every Situation
ذِكْرُ الْبَيَانِ بِأَنَّ الْجَنَّةَ إِنَّمَا تَجِبُ لِمَنْ أَتَى بِمَا وَصَفْنَا مِنْ شُعَبِ الْإِيمَانِ، وَقَرَنَ ذَلِكَ بِسَائِرِ الْعِبَادَاتِ الَّتِي هِيَ أَعْمَالٌ بِالْأَبْدَانِ، لَا أَنَّ مَنْ أَتَى بِالْإِقْرَارِ دُونَ الْعَمَلِ تَجِبُ الْجَنَّةُ لَهُ فِي كُلِّ حَالٍ
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "What is the right of Allah upon His servants?" They replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "That they worship Him alone and do not associate anything with Him." He asked, "What is their right upon Allah if they do that?" They replied, "Allah and His Messenger know best." He said, "That He forgives them and does not punish them."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ «مَا حَقُّ اللَّهِ عَلَى الْعِبَادِ؟ » قَالُوا اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ «أَنْ يَعْبُدُوهُ وَلَا يُشْرِكُوا بِهِ» قَالَ «فَمَا حَقُّهُمْ عَلَى اللَّهِ إِذَا فَعَلُوا ذَلِكَ؟ » قَالُوا اللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ «يَغْفِرُ لَهُمْ وَلَا يُعَذِّبُهُمْ»

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَا مُعَاذُ تَدْرِي مَا حَقُّ اللهِ عَلَى الْعَبِيدِ؟» قُلْتُ اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ قَالَ «أَنْ تَعْبُدُوهُ وَلَا تُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا هَلْ تَدْرِي مَا حَقُّ الْعِبَادِ عَلَى اللهِ إِذَا فَعَلُوا ذَلِكَ؟ أَنْ لَا يُعَذِّبَهُمْ»
"يَا مُعَاذُ بْنَ جَبَلٍ هَل تَدْرِى مَا حَقُّ الله عَلَى عِبَادهِ، وَمَا حَقُّ العِبَادِ عَلَى الله؟ فَإِنَّ حَقَّ الله عَلَى العِبَادِ أن يَعْبُدُوهُ وَلاَ يُشْرِكوا بِهِ شَيْئًا، وَحَقُّ العِبَادِ عَلَى الله أَلأً يُعَذبَ مَنْ لا يُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا".

"عَنْ مُعَاذٍ قَالَ: كُنْتُ رَدِيفَ النَّبِىِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ: يَا مُعَاذُ! لا تَسْأَلْنِى إِذَا خَلَوْتَ مَعِى؟ قُلْتُ: اللهُ وَرَسُولُه أَعْلَمُ، قَالَ: يَا مُعَاذُ! هَلْ تَدْرِى مَا حَقُّ اللهِ عَلَى الْعِبَادِ؟ قُلْتُ: اللهُ وَرَسُولُه أَعْلَمُ، قَالَ: أَنْ يَعْبُدُوهُ وَلا يُشْرِكُوا بِهِ شَيْئًا، قَالَ: فَهَلْ تدرى مَا حَقُّ العِبَادِ عَلَى اللهِ إِذا فَعَلُوا ذَلِكَ؟ قُلْتُ: اللهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَعْلَمُ، قَالَ: يُدْخِلُهُمُ الْجَنَّةَ".
