"مَنْ حَرَسَ لَيلَةً عَلَى سَاحِل الْبَحْر كَانَ أَفْضَلَ مِنْ عِبَادَةِ رَجُل في أَهْلِهِ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ، السَّنَةُ ثَلاثُمِائَة وَسِتُّونَ يَوْمًا، كُلُّ يَوْم أَلْفُ سَنَةٍ".
I heard Anas bin Malik saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: “Standing guard one night in the cause of Allah is better than a man fasting and praying, among his family, for a thousand years. The year is three hundred and sixty days and a day is like a thousand years.”
