"مَنْ جَرَّ ثِيَابَهُ مِنَ الْخُيَلاءِ لَمْ يَنْظُر اللهُ إِلَيهِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ، وَبَينَا رَجُلٌ يَمْشِي بَينَ بُرْدَيْن مُخْتَالًا، خَسَفَ اللهُ بِهِ الأَرْضَ، فَهُوَ يَتَجَلْجَلُ فِيهَا إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ".
There was a person who walked with pride because of his (fine) mantles and well pleased with his personality. Allah made him sink in the earth and he would go on sinking in that until the Day of Resurrection.
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ يَتَبَخْتَرُ يَمْشِي فِي بُرْدَيْهِ قَدْ أَعْجَبَتْهُ نَفْسُهُ فَخَسَفَ اللَّهُ بِهِ الأَرْضَ فَهُوَ يَتَجَلْجَلُ فِيهَا إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ
[AI] "On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he said: While a man was walking proudly between two valleys, Allah caused the earth to swallow him, and he will continue to sink in it until the Day of Resurrection."
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ بَيْنَا رَجُلٌ يَمْشِي بَيْنَ بُرْدَيْنِ مُخْتَالًا خَسَفَ اللهُ بِهِ الْأَرْضَ فَهُوَ يَتَجَلْجَلُ فِيهَا إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أن رجلا لبس حلة فاختال فيها فخسف به الأرض فهو يتجلجل فيها إلا يوم القيامة
