"عَنْ كُلثُوم بنِ الأَقْمَرِ قَالَ: أَوَّلُ مَنْ عَرَّبَ العِراب رَجُلٌ منَّا يُقَالُ لَهُ مُنْذِرُ الْوَادِعِى، كَانَ عَاملًا لِعُمرَ عَلَى بَعْضِ الشَّامِ، فَطَلَبَ الْعَدُوَّ فَلَحِقَتِ الْخَيلُ وَتَقَطَّعَتِ الَبرَاذِينُ فَأَسْهَم لِلْخَيلَ وَتَرَكَ الْبرَاذِينَ، فَكَتَبَ إِلَى عُمَرَ، فَكَتَبَ عُمَرُ: نِعِمَّا رَأَيْتَ، فَصَارتْ سُنَّةً".
Request/Fix translation
[Machine] It is said that Al-Wadi'i, who used to work for 'Umar, was in charge of some of the Sham region. He sought out the enemy, and the cavalry followed him and the horsemen scattered. So he shot arrows at the cavalry and left the horsemen, and he wrote to 'Umar. And 'Umar wrote back, "What you did was great, and it became a tradition."
