السيوطي:٢-٣١٤٦b –

"عَنْ أَبِى عِمْرَانَ الجُونِىِّ قَالَ: مَرَّ عُمَرُ بْنُ الخَطَّابِ بِراهبٍ فَوَقَفَ، وَنُودِى الرَّاهِبُ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: هَذَا أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، فاطَّلَعَ فَإِذَا إِنْسَانٌ بِهِ مِنَ الضُّرِّ والاجْتِهَادِ وَتَرْكِ الدُّنْيَا، فَلَمَّا رآهُ عُمَرُ بَكَى، فَقِيلَ لَهُ: إِنَّهُ نَصْرَانِىٌّ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ: قَدْ عَلِمْتُ وَلِكنِّى رَحِمْتُهُ، ذَكَرْتُ قَوْلَ اللَّهِ ﷻ {عَامِلَةٌ نَاصِبَةٌ (3) تَصْلَى نَارًا حَامِيَةً} فَرَحِمْتُ نَصَبَهُ وَاجْتِهَادَهُ وهُوَ فِى النَّارِ".
