"عن الليث بن مسعود قال: قَدِمَ عمرو بن العاص على عمر بن الخطاب فسأله عمر: من استخلفت على مصر؟ قال: مجاهد بن جُبيْر، فقال له عمر: مولى ابنة غزوان؟ قال: نعَم إِنَّه كَاتِبٌ، فقال عمر: إن العلم ليرفع بصاحبه".
