I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ what one of us should do if he becomes junub then wants to sleep before doing ghusl. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Let him do wudoo' as for prayer, then he may go to sleep.ʿ

[AI] Aisha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ , narrated that she asked him, "What did the Messenger of Allah do when he was in a state of major ritual impurity (junub) and wanted to sleep before performing ablution?" She said, "He would perform ablution for prayer and then go to sleep."

Yahya related to me from Malik from Hisham ibn Urwa from his father that A'isha, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ used to say, "If you have intercourse with your wife and then wish to go to sleep before doing ghusl, do not sleep until you have done wudu as for prayer."
