BAYHAQI 11953:
from ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb —
[Machine] What is the matter with people who dissolve their children like sugar, but when one of them dies, they say, "What do I have in my hand?" But when he dies, he says, "I have nurtured him and my children will not receive anything except what the child has inherited from the father."

عن عمر بن الخطاب —
مَا بَالُ أَقْوَامٍ يَنْحَلُونَ أَوْلَادَهُمْ نِحْلَةً فَإِذَا مَاتَ أَحَدُهُمْ قَالَ مَالِي فِي يَدِي وَإِذَا مَاتَ هُوَ قَالَ قَدْ كُنْتُ نَحَلْتُهُ وَلَدِي لَا نُحْلَةَ إِلَّا نُحْلَةً يَحُوزُهَا الْوَلَدُ دُونَ الْوَالِدِ فَإِنْ مَاتَ وَرِثَهُ
