"تَجَوَّزْ فِي الصَّلاة يَا عُثْمَانُ، وَاقْدُر النَّاسَ بأضْعَفِهمْ؛ فَإِنَّ فِيهمُ الضَّعِيف، وَذَا الحَاجَة، وَالحَامِلَ، وَالمُرْضِعَ، إِنِّي لأسْمَعُ بُكَاءَ الصَّبيِّ فَأتَجَوَّز".
[Machine] When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent me to Thaqif, he said to me, "Extend the prayer, O Uthman, and accommodate people according to their weaknesses, for among them are the weak, the needy, the pregnant, and the breastfeeding. I can hear the crying of an infant, so I shorten the prayer."
لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حِينَ بَعَثَنِي إِلَى ثَقِيفٍ «تَجَوَّزْ فِي الصَّلَاةِ يَا عُثْمَانُ وَاقْدِرِ النَّاسَ بِأَضْعَفِهِمْ فَإِنَّ فِيهِمُ الضَّعِيفَ وَذَا الْحَاجَةِ وَالْحَامِلَ وَالْمُرْضِعَ إِنِّي لَأَسْمَعُ بُكَاءَ الصَّبِيِّ فَأَتَجَوَّزُ»
