"The Messenger of Allah was asked about Al-Luqath.[2] He said: "That which is found on a much-traveled road or in an inhabited village, announce it for a year. If its owner comes (and takes it, well and good), otherwise it is yours. That which was not found on a much-traveled road or in an inhabited village is subject to the Khuns, as is Rikaz."'[1]

[Machine] On the authority of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ , he was asked about lost and found items. He said, "If it is found on the main road or in a populated village, then announce it for a year. If its owner comes forward, return it to them. If no one claims it, then it belongs to you. If it is found in ruins, then keep it. If it is found in a she-camel's saddlebag, give a fifth as charity."

[Machine] About the Messenger of Allah, it was asked about lost property. He said, "If it is found on a public road or in a central town, announce it to the people for a year, and if its owner comes, give it back to him, and if he does not come, it is yours. And if it is found in a ruin, it belongs to the finder, and if it is found in a well, it is subject to the one-fifth Islamic tax."
