"when a person is placed in his grave and his companions depart from him, he hears the sound of their sandals."  

النسائي:٢٠٤٩ – أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ الْوَرَّاقُ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا وُضِعَ فِي قَبْرِهِ وَتَوَلَّى عَنْهُ أَصْحَابُهُ إِنَّهُ لَيَسْمَعُ قَرْعَ نِعَالِهِمْ

muslim:2870c – ʿAmr b. Zurārah > ʿAbd al-Wahhāb / Ibn ʿAṭāʾ > Saʿīd > Qatādah > Anas b. Mālik > Nabī Allāh ﷺ

When the servant is placed in his grave and his friends retrace their steps. The rest of the hadith is the same as transmitted by Qatada.

أَنَّ نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ ﷺ قَالَ إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا وُضِعَ فِي قَبْرِهِ وَتَوَلَّى عَنْهُ أَصْحَابُهُ فَذَكَرَ بِمِثْلِ حَدِيثِ شَيْبَانَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ  

abudawud:3231 – Muḥammad b. Sulaymān al-Anbārī > ʿAbd al-Wahhāb / Ibn ʿAṭāʾ > Saʿīd > Qatādah > Anas

The Prophet ﷺ as saying: When a servant (of Allah) is placed in his grave, and his Companions depart from him, he hears the stepping sound of their shoes.  

أبو داود:٣٢٣١ – حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الأَنْبَارِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَطَاءٍ عَنْ سَعِيدٍ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ عَنْ أَنَسٍ

عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا وُضِعَ فِي قَبْرِهِ وَتَوَلَّى عَنْهُ أَصْحَابُهُ إِنَّهُ لَيَسْمَعُ قَرْعَ نِعَالِهِمْ  

nasai-kubra:2187 – Aḥmad b. Abū ʿUbaydullāh al-Warrāq > Yazīd b. Zurayʿ > Saʿīd > Qatādah > Anas > Nabī Allāh ﷺ

«إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ إِذَا وُضِعَ فِي قَبْرِهِ وَتَوَلَّى عَنْهُ أَصْحَابُهُ إِنَّهُ لَيَسْمَعُ قَرْعَ نِعَالِهِمْ»
