nasai-kubra:9930 – Qutaybah b. Saʿīd > al-Layth > Ibn ʿAjlān > ʿAmr b. Shuʿayb from his father from his grandfather

It was narrated from 'Amr bin Shu'aib, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet ﷺ forbade reciting poetry in the Masjid. (Using translation from Nasāʾī 715)   

الكبرى للنسائي:٩٩٣٠ – أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلَانَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ

«أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ نَهَى أَنْ تُنَاشَدَ الْأَشْعَارُ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ»

"The Messenger of Allah forbade buying and selling in the mosque, and reciting poetry in the mosque."
