ذِكْرُ السَّبَبِ الَّذِي بِهِ فَرَّقَ بَيْنَ السَّبْيِ وَالْمُقَاتِلَةِ

[AI] "I was the first to judge them, Saad brought me and I saw that he would kill me, so they uncovered my suffering and found that I did not grow, so they made me captive."

«كُنْتُ أَوَّلَ مَنْ حَكَمَ فِيهِمْ سَعْدٌ فَجِيءَ بِي وَأَنَا أَرَى أَنَّهُ سَيَقْتُلُنِي فَكَشَفُوا عَنْ عَانَتِي فَوَجَدُونِي لَمْ أُنْبِتْ فَجَعَلُونِي فِي السَّبْيِ»

[AI] I was among those whom Saad had ruled upon, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that "their fighters be killed and their children be taken captive." So, they brought me and I was not seen except that they would kill me. He revealed my condition and they saw that I did not come out, so they made me a captive.

كُنْتُ فِيمَنْ حَكَمَ فِيهِ سَعْدٌ أَمَرَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ «يَقْتُلَ مُقَاتِلُهُمْ وَتُسْبَى ذَرَارِيُّهُمْ» قَالَ فَجِيءَ بِي وَلَا أُرَانِي إِلَّا سَيَقْتُلُنِي قَالَ فَكَشَفَ عَنْ عَانَتِي فَنَظَرُوا إِلَيْهَا فَوَجَدُوهَا لَمْ تَخْرُجْ فَجَعَلُونِي فِي السَّبْيِ

[AI] I was among those whom Saad bin Muadh ruled over. The Messenger of Allah commanded that their fighters be killed and their children be taken as captives. They brought me and I could only see that they were going to kill me. They uncover my arm and found that it had not grown any hair. So they put me among the captives.
