[Machine] Abdullah said, "Today is a voluntary fast for me before Ramadan. If you wish to break your fast, break it."  

الكبرى للنسائي:٢٨٥٧ – أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ قَالَ دَخَلَ الْأَشْعَثُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ عَلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ وَهُوَ يَطْعَمُ قَالَ ادْنُهْ فَاطْعَمْ قَالَ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ فَقَالَ

عَبْدُ اللهِ «كَانَ هَذَا الْيَوْمُ نَصُومُهُ قَبْلَ رَمَضَانَ فَإِنْ شِئْتَ أَنْ تَطْعَمَ فَادْنُه فَاطْعَمْ»
