"At the time of the Messenger of Allah we used to give a Sa' of dates, or a Sa' of barley, or a Sa' of cottage cheese, and we did not give anything else." (Using translation from Nasāʾī 2518)
«كُنَّا نُخْرِجُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ أَقِطٍ لَا نُخْرِجُ غَيْرَهُ»
"At the time of the Messenger of Allah we used to give a Sa' of dates, or a Sa' of barley, or a Sa' of cottage cheese, and we did not give anything else."
كُنَّا نُخْرِجُ فِي عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ أَقِطٍ لاَ نُخْرِجُ غَيْرَهُ
[Machine] People used to give out Zakat al-Fitr during the time of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as a saa' (a unit of measurement) of barley, dates, salt, or raisins.
كَانَ النَّاسُ يُخْرِجُونَ صَدَقَةَ الْفِطْرِ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ صَاعًا مِنْ شَعِيرٍ أَوْ صَاعًا مِنْ تَمْرٍ أَوْ سلْتٍ أَوْ زَبِيبٍ
