'A'isha asked: What disrupts the prayer? We said: The woman and the ass. Upon this she remarked: Is the woman an ugly animal? I lay in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ like the bier of a corpse and he said prayer.
إِنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ لَدَابَّةُ سَوْءٍ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنِي بَيْنَ يَدَىْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مُعْتَرِضَةً كَاعْتِرَاضِ الْجِنَازَةِ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي
“The prayer is severed by a woman, a dog and a donkey.” (Using translation from Ibn Mājah 950)
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ يَقْطَعُ الصَّلَاةَ الْمَرْأَةُ وَالْكَلْبُ وَالْحِمَارُ
[AI] "Narrated by Aisha, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform his night prayer while I was lying across between him and the qiblah, just like the position of a deceased person lying across."
عَنْ عَائِشَةَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يُصَلِّي صَلَاتَهُ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ وَأَنَا مُعْتَرِضَةٌ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْقِبْلَةِ كَاعْتِرَاضِ الْجِنَازَةِ
[AI] Aisha, indeed, women are like harmful animals. I have seen myself standing before the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, blocking his way, like a funeral procession, while he was praying. Shu'bah said: "There was a distance between her and the qiblah, as far as I understand."
عَائِشَةُ إِنَّ الْمَرْأَةَ إِذًا لَدَابَّةُ سُوءٍ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ مُعْتَرِضَةً كَاعْتِرَاضِ الْجَنَازَةِ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي قَالَ شُعْبَةُ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ الْقِبْلَةِ فِيمَا أَظُنُّ
[AI] They say that prayer is nullified by a woman, a dog, and a donkey. She said, "Indeed, I saw myself interrupting in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, just like interrupting a funeral."
يَقُولُونَ يَقْطَعُ الصَّلَاةَ الْمَرْأَةُ وَالْكَلْبُ وَالْحِمَارُ قَالَتْ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنِي مُعْتَرِضَةً بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ كَاعْتِرَاضِ الْجِنَازَةِ
[AI] Aisha said, "I saw myself in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ holding a funeral prayer like that of a dead body while he was praying."
عَائِشَةُ «لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنِي بَيْنَ يَدَيْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ مُعْتَرِضَةً كَاعْتِرَاضِ الْجَنَازَةِ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي»
[AI] The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The prayer is annulled by a dog, a donkey, and a woman."
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «يَقْطَعُ الصَّلَاةَ الْكَلْبُ وَالْحِمَارُ وَالْمَرْأَةُ»
